Apollo Music Hub was founded by Helen in March 2021 following years of working as a music teacher in schools in Cork and Dublin. It is an online Music school, which has found great success in its operation since 2021.

Helen is a Music educator, mentor, and composer hailing from Cork, Ireland. She has been a practicing Music teacher in schools for over a decade, teaching students of all ages and experience levels. She began Apollo Music Hub in the hopes to bring a personal touch to Music tuition to her locality and to make Music education FUN for all. Since she began her teaching career, her students have successfully completed Music grade exams, obtained their desired Music state exam grades, and passed third-level Music college entrance exams across the country.

She began violin studies in East Cork at a young age studying The Suzuki Violin Method before moving to the mainstream system and completing Grade 8 Violin after turning fifteen. As a teenager, she was involved with local ensembles and orchestras and studied Classical Guitar to Grade 5 classical repertoire before returning to higher violin study. Her Masters thesis focused on the use of the Kodàly and Dalcrozian methods of Music theory teaching in the context of the secondary school Music classroom. Her undergraduate BMus. Major Study entitled ‘The Soundscape of Cult Comic Books Adapted for Screen: The Sonic Worlds of “Batman” (1989) and “The Dark Knight” (2008)’ was completed under the supervision of the late esteemed scholar Dr. Danijela Kulezic-Wilson.

In 2020, Helen wrote a score for a short film entitled ‘Night Swimming’ which was selected for the Montréal Independent Film Festival and also selected and nominated for awards at Los Angeles International Film Festival, Waterford Film Festival, Indie X Film Festival, and more. Another project, 'Meeting His Parents' was screened at Rhode Island International Film Festival in August 2021 and won the 'Alternative Spirit Award', and is awaiting screenings in Ireland Autumn 2021.

In 2020, Helen was appointed as a Mentor for The Ivors Academy ‘Music Creators Mentoring Programme’ to educate others at the beginning of their career. Aside from composing and education, another passion of Helen's is encouraging females and other underrepresented minorities to get into the world of audio. She also enjoys audio mentoring for Game Jams. Helen’s diverse experience in different areas of the Music Industry has informed her ability to work within many different genres of film.

Most of Helen’s experiences from a performance perspective are rooted in performing in orchestras; she is a member of Cork Concert Orchestra and has also completed tours with The Esker Festival Orchestra (kindly sponsored by The Arts Council of Ireland), The Rehearsal Orchestra in London and Edinburgh and has performed as part of various orchestras for classical crossover artists such as Katherine Jenkins, Il Divo and Jose Carreras.
